Caitlin from Missouri told us her personal tale of timeshare woe regarding the so-called ‘Owners Update’.
Here’s Caitlin’s story:
“I purchased and paid off my timeshare. One day they invited me for an ‘update’ meeting. I was told that if I didn’t upgrade I’d no longer be able to use it. They made so many promises, including supposedly adding my oldest son. The salesman said if my child’s name wasn’t added to the deed to just call him. Then when I called, they acted as if no one by that name worked there?! Are you kidding me? That was just the beginning, so much more to tell”
We were horrified when she shared the details! 
The timeshare resorts KNOW the younger generation see timeshares as a disaster zone. So what do they do?
Like any good hustler they go after people they’ve already duped once. Here is how their con works…
The ‘Owners Update Meeting’ is a tactic they use to catch you off guard.
They wait until you’ve owned your timeshare a while.
They may use a pretext (a visit, an enquiry, no availability for the week you wanted to book) to invite you to an ‘Owners Update Meeting’.
Listen closely it gets worse…
They may feed you a scare story like they did Caitlin – or tell you the meeting is essential to get the most out of your timeshare. And you’ll meet other owners. It’ll be fun!
They will try to make you feel important…maybe even throw in a bonus vacation to sweeten it for you!
When you’re at the ‘Meeting’ you discover that it’s no more than another sales pitch where they’ll try to sell you an ‘Upgrade’ on your timeshare.
All this does is ‘upgrade’ your liability and payments to the timeshare resort! It can often times double or treble the problem.
You walk out of there with a bigger issue and more money owing to the resort.
It’s an upgrade for the timeshare salesman not for you!
They have played you a second time leaving you even more down
